Zmiany w terminarzu Microsoft Tech-Ed Europe 2009

Data spotkania: 09-13 November 2009 [Save The Dates in Outlook].

Platform: All Platforms

Summary

Critical vulnerabilities have been identified in Adobe Reader 9.1.1 and Acrobat 9.1.1 and earlier versions. These vulnerabilities would cause the application to crash and could potentially allow an attacker to take control of the affected system.

Adobe recommends users of Adobe Reader 9 and Acrobat 9 and earlier versions update to Adobe Reader 9.1.2 and Acrobat 9.1.2. Adobe recommends users of Acrobat 8 update to Acrobat 8.1.6, and users of Acrobat 7 update to Acrobat 7.1.3. For Adobe Reader users who can’t update to Adobe Reader 9.1.2, Adobe has provided the Adobe Reader 8.1.6 and Adobe Reader 7.1.3 updates.  Updates apply to Windows and Macintosh.  Security updates for Adobe Reader on the UNIX platform will be available on June 16, 2009; this Bulletin will be updated to reflect their availability on that date.

This update incorporates the initial output of code hardening efforts discussed in a May 20 Adobe ASSET (Adobe Secure Software Engineering Team) blog post, as well as externally reported issues, as detailed below.

Affected software versions

Adobe Reader 9.1.1 and earlier versions
Adobe Acrobat Standard, Pro, and Pro Extended 9.1.1 and earlier versions

Introduction to SSIS
with Ryan Fonnett
Tuesday June 9th 12:00pm EST
SSIS is a high performance Microsoft ETL tool that is part of the Business Intelligence Design Studio.  It is primarily used to pull data from one or more data sources into an in memory dataset that is massaged and then loaded into one or more data destinations. The presentation will include an introduction to SSIS and a couple of demos that will help you with designing and building your first SSIS package!

Highly Available SQL Server Upgrade Assault Tactics
with Jason Massie
Tuesday, June 23rd 12:00pm EST
In this debriefing, we will look at various methods to minimize downtime during major version upgrades. This will include upgrading from SQL Server 2000 to SQL Server 2005 and SQL 2008 as well as SQL Server 2005 to SQL Server 2008. We will cover key planning and testing skills that can cut substantial time off the upgrade and minimize problems after the upgrade. We will also cover the technologies that you can add to your arsenal when planning an HA upgrade assault. All hands on deck as we do battle against upgrade downtime.

Datawarehouse Partitioning
Presenter: Brian Knight
Tues: June 30th, 2009  12:00PM EST
Partitioned tables are tables whose data is horizontally divided into units which may be spread across more than one file group in a database. Partitioning makes large tables or indexes more manageable by letting you access or manage subsets of data quickly and efficiently, while maintaining the integrity of the overall collection. Within the data warehouse, fact tables are often good candidates for partitioning. This presentation will introduce table partitioning and demonstrate strategies and methodologies for managing large fact tables using the partitioning capabilities of SQL Server 2005 and 2008.
