W związku z zapowiedziami Microsoft’u dotyczącymi telefonu z tak zwanej dolnej półki, zastanawialiśmy się w Redakcji, jak gigant z Redmond zamierza ułatwić deweloperom testowanie, czy ich aplikacja będzie działać na telefonach z 256MB RAM’u. Szczegóły poniżej.

This Community Technology Preview (CTP) release provides developers with a preview of the upcoming WPSDK Update, which will enables developers to develop and test for the recently announced Windows Phone 7.5 256 MB devices. The 7.1.1 Update provides the following. Please note, the CTP is based on a very early build of the Windows Phone 7.5 Refresh.

Updated 512 MB OS Emulator Image: An updated build Windows Phone OS 7.1

New 256 MB OS Emulator Image: A new Windows Phone OS 7.1 emulator image that emulates 256 MB devices

Ability to debug or run your WP apps in either the 256 MB or 512 MB emulator

Intellisense support for adding the new 512 MB requirement to the Windows Phone App Manifest file
WPSDK Support for English and Simplified Chinese

In the next month, we will be providing an updated/final version of the WPSDK 7.1.1 Update, which will contain the final Windows Phone 7.5 Refresh emulator images to emulate both the 512 MB and 256 MB devices. Also in the final release will be support for Malay and Indonesian within the emulator OS images.
