FIM sync-rule-inbound-flow-rules-invalid error

For a while I’m doing a lot with FIM 2010. I’ve learned a lot during this half-of-a-year time, so it’s time to share some of things learned. Firstly, one of the hardest to resolve errors in FIM configuration. Why it is so hard? Even if you run FIM MA agent successfully a couple of times, you can still receive this error during next synchronization step (doesn’t matter that you haven’t changed your synchronization rule or Forefront configuration – you can still receive an error).

So, first what to do is to check requests in FIM to verify that synch rule has not been modified. Probably not, but make sure.

Later, you can try steps mentioned here:

But I’ve found that there’s an another bug: If any agent is working, doing synchronization on FIM MA agent will become sync-rule-inbound-flow-rules-invalid error. So every time you will find this error on FIM MA agent, verify that it would the only running agent and run it again.
